Real People Appreciation Challenge
Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar has been my idol for as long as I can remember. I was twelve years old when she started as Buffy Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I grew up watching Sarah play a strong female warrior, and she was such a positive role model for me and countless other girls/women. I’ve followed her career since then, supporting her in movies like Cruel Intentions and I Know What You Did Last Summer. I now look up to her because in real life she is very family oriented. She has a strong marriage to Freddie Prinze Jr., and two adorable children. She puts her family first, even if it isn’t always the best for her career. When I heard Sarah was coming back to television in Ringer I was beyond excited. The show was nowhere near as good as Buffy, but it was still nice to see Sarah on a weekly program again. There are rumors that Sarah will be starring in an upcoming half hour sitcom. I don’t know how well that will work out for her, and I would much prefer to see her in a cable series. Hopefully in the next five years we will see her back doing something as significant as Buffy.

I completely agree with your thoughts on Sarah, she will always be an inspiration to me. I've been following her career since Buffy and while nothing will ever be as good, it's nice to see the different roles she's taken on. I'm actually very interested to see her in a sitcom, it would be something different and I think she could pull it off. I'm at the point that I don't care what she's in, just as long as she's back on my TV. I'm still bitter over the cancellation of Ringer.

I know I was too! Ringer wasn't so awful, and it was at a point where it was getting interesting. I'll watch her in anything, tbh, but I'm still standing on my soapbox waiting for her to be approached with a meaningful role.

I'm getting all nostalgic now, because I used to fangirl Sarah so very hard back when Buffy was on. I kind of lost track of her afterwards, but I loved Ringer, and I'm still sad that it got cancelled (undeservedly, IMO, when much worse shows remained on air for a lot longer).

Agreed. I miss Sarah on TV and I want her on something awesome!
